Catherine Meyer has been involved with the HEAT Kids Triathlon since its inception–first as an athlete and later as a body marker and finish line volunteer. Before becoming a triathlete, she started playing soccer and hasn’t stopped! For the last three years she played at the Division 1 level for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Last summer, she also played in a co-ed team called “CeleBreak” in Barcelona, Spain. She achieved her undergraduate degree in just three years and received the Dayle May Award for academic excellence–achieving the highest cumulative GPA amongst all student athletes. She remains focused on fitness and will continue her academic pursuits at Appalachian State University this fall.
