Congratulations to our HEAT members recognized for their achievements in 2016.

MEMBER OF THE YEAR – Heather Lake
Heather served as the President of HEAT for 2016.  She created our TeamApp group, updated our website, organized our Harrier Run, Bike Clinic, Swim Clinic and other training events.  She also completed the Dopey Challenge, Rock-N-Roll Nashville and Hendersonville Half Marathons, and Music City, Paris Landing, Riverbluff, and Storm the Fort triathlons.  Heather is married to Anthony who completed his first marathon in 2016.  They have two children, Chase and Ashelyn.  Thanks Heather for all you do!

 

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR – Leshia Scheetz
Leshia became a triathlete in 2016 by completing the Alpha Delta Pi-athlon. She continued on her journey with the Music City, Cedars of Lebanon, and Bowling Green triathlons.  She is now training for her first half Ironman.  Leshia is married to Mike who is also a triathlete. They have two beautiful children, Mikayla and Luke. We can’t wait to see what 2017 holds!

 

MOST ACCOMPLISHED – Brad Alsup
Brad became an Ironman in Chattanooga in 2016.  He also completed the Rock’N-Roll half marathon in Nashville and the full marathon in Savannah.  He also raced the Fall Creek Falls Olympic and the Jack and Back.  His wife Emily became a triathlete in 2016 and is now training for her first half Ironman. They have two adorable twin boys, Carson and Cole.  Congratulations Alsup Family!

 

MOST INSPIRATIONAL – Steve Dickens
Steve  became a triathlete in 2016 and hit the ground running hard.  He began the year with the Dopey Challenge, with a PR in every race.  He completed Ragnar Trail Ft Knox KY and Ragnar TN, half marathons – Tom King and Dry Creek, and the Rock-N-Roll Nashville and Flying Monkey marathons.  He finished a number of triathlons – ADPi, Y Tri, Music City, Paris Landing, Riverbluff, Cedars of Lebanon, Manchester Star and his first two half Iron distances – Storm the Fort and Atomic Man.  He ended the year with the Bell Ringer 50K trail run.  Steve hasn’t let his Type I diabetes slow him down at all.  He inspires all of us to be better. Steve is married to Tory and they have two children, Katie and Christian. Good luck in 2017!
